TW IRP reviews & how it works

Wanted to see if anyone had some long term reviews of the IRP, how exactly it works, any negatives if turbo'ed, and driveablility rock crawling. I'm primarily wanting to smooth clutch engagement in more extreme rock crawling and will it help any with stalling the engine? Currently running a '19 with an oil mod, gytr reduction (pretty much the same as the 70% kit) and 32's.

I'm running a IRP and the heavy duty actuator. I love the IRP. Makes my 17 ss se much easier to drive at low speeds. I also had the heavy duty actuator done at the same time. Between this combination, something isn't right. It won't shift under WOT, so most of the time you have to let off of the throttle, shift, then apply throttle again. Even then it doesn't shift all the time. Thankfully, the shop I had do it, is working with Tubeworks and isn't giving up.

I have one and love it for takeoff and slow moving. The only issue I have is downshifting and it not fully engaging right away. Have to blip the throttle to get it to fully engage. This is not 100% of the time but every now and then..

Good information! Was thinking of these mods for my 2017 SS SE as well. The thing runs so dam well stock I hate to mess with it. I hear mixed reviews of the gearing and TW upgrades with loss of dependability?

I have a 2017 SS with Rekluse Torque Drive clutch and TW 45/15 kit. I did the clutch first and the change was definitely noticeable - grabbed fast and hard from a dead stop. After the 45/15 gear change and the Gear Shift Control Module added, it is a completely different car. Starts are smooth, downshifts solid and I have no issues at all. Really happy with these mods and would recommend them to anyone with an SS.

I'm holding out to see what it take to install the 2019 gears on a SS. I'm not real sure I need the full blown TW gears. I already installed the Clutch Oil Mod. I usually only run HM trails and I can pretty much do most of them that I care to ride. I'm not really into the "hold my beer" trails that just look like carnage awaits.. lol

Then don't mess with it. I love the way mine shifts stock, why risk it?

I've had the IRP in mine since I brought my 17 SS SE home over 14 months ago, 1300 miles and countless trips riding Windrock, Royal Blue and other places. I had them do the 70/30/15 kit and the clutch hub mod at the same time. I do NOT have the HD actuator since I'm running a stock engine. The IRP is a must imo. Slow going on technical trails and none of that clunkiness from stop to engage. It doesn't roll back down the hill or anything like that. Honestly all of these should come with IRP and the clutch hub mod factory.

Does anyone know what type of RWHP a stock SS clutch/actuator will hold?
