The stock gearing will allow the YXZ1000 to be driven at 100 MPH. You will just have to manipulate the electronics to help get you there from the stock top speed of 80.

The front and rear wheels are the same offset. So when you get aftermarket wheels the track with should stay the same from front to back. That’s not the case with the Maverick or RZR. Their stock wheels are wider in the back than the front.
8
The lug pattern for the wheels is 4/110 just like the Rhino and Grizzly. Bigger brakes is what caused the wheel size to jump from 12 inch to 14.
7
You can adjust the shift light to blink or stay on solid when it comes on. The trigger RPM can also be adjusted. Stock it’s set at 10,000 RPM.
6
The YXZ’s engine is more like the Yamaha Vector snowmobile than any other machine including the Viper, Genesis or R1. Turbo kits are already available for the Vector pumping out 155 horsepower.
5
The stock clutch plates are identical to the steel and fiber plates in Yamaha’s 1679cc, V Max motorcycle. Tire Automotive tire Auto part Automotive wheel system Synthetic rubber

4
You do not have to use the clutch to shift the YXZ. You just have to be able to match the RPM’s and wheel speed perfectly before shifting.
3
Yamaha recommends throwing away the stock paper secondary air filter during service intervals. Yamaha also sells a washable gauze filter as an accessory for $59. It will pay for its self in one season.
2
You do not need to by aftermarket shocks for the YXZ. The stock shocks have all the adjustment you will ever need including hi and low speed compression, rebound and preload. We expect spring kits to become a popular upgrade.

You will need to invest in a second battery or the external alternator option if you plan on running big lights, a GPS or a stereo in the YXZ. We suggest buying the rear cargo bin which comes with a tray for that second battery.

THAT'S A STRONG CLUTCH PLATE COMlNG FROM 1679cc V-MAX.
Good info...Sounds like that clutch can hold a lot of HP and TQ...kind of a bummer about the battery and alternator...guess they had to F-up somewhere huh? that is where lol

So what will the stock electric power? Kinda sucks to have to pay to put lights and stereo in.

I'm thinking the alternator must rob power and they didn't want to run that on there first release...gotta keep that hp high for first impression purposes..
Stock is 40amp. So, with all the big lights and stereo's that will push any SxS's electrical system to the max. Nothing new here... on the others you can on run them only so long or wait until your 2nd battery is dead and switch over. At least there is an option to run it forever.
I think that sleds don't run big stereos and 50" light bars, and this is basically a sled motor, that they just said F it! Simpler to just use one stator for all these similar motors.

Polaris has a 560 watt @12 v is 47 amp and Can Am is 625 watt @ 12v about 52 amp. So it is smaller and in fact as we have all seen from the original 800 razor that 400 watts isn't enough, hence the statement to add a battery or the larger alternator.

It may not be anything new, but it should be with a brand new flagship UTV. Making excuses for these manufactures , no matter how brand loyal makes no sense. Either it's the way it should be or we should voice our dissatisfaction. Sending it out with a 480 watt stator, clearly, as was stated requires something more to make it function as it should and is nonsense .

My 08 Teryx was only 235 watts, so this is still an improvement over that. It is a bummer that its needs an alternator to run accessories.

I say get a new dealer!!
For me I'm sure it will be enough. I may add one small light bar if the factory lights don't put out enough. Besides that I don't need big stereos, strobe lights, disco balls or any of the other crap I see on some utv's. If I have a turbocharged triple a loud radio would only take away from my riding enjoyment.

My time spent riding is to be outdoors and hang out with friends. It's hard to bust balls with friends if you can't communicate because of the melting pot of music being played in a 100' foot of trail. Meaning one guys is blasting Garth brooks or some other hill billy music, next guy is thrashing to pantera and then a bike or two back is blasting thug nasty slim or Taylor swift or who knows what else.

Don't get me wrong I have big stereos in my vehicles and enjoy them, but when it's in an open air environment and everyone can hear it's gets crazy all the stuff you hear at one time.

Sorry for the rant.....

I run a gps, race radio, and a helmet pumper. That alone will overtax it! Plus I want a 50" light bar. I did a full size car battery on my rhino, by id make my own alternater for this one.
Thanks for the advise Tennessee. I really appreciate your hard work on this.

At what RPM do those stators start producing the amps? It better not be charging at less than 12.7 volts are that will be eating your battery.

Maverick- 625 watts / 14.4 = 43 amps at 6000 rpm half that at idle.

Rzr- we all know those don't kick any juice until higher rpm either.

Yamaha Wolverine- 40 amps at IDLE. The word from the engineer on the YXZ was 40amps at 3000 rpm. So maybe more at higher rpm and 35 amps at idle? Don't know until testing is done.

Again, none of these buggies are designed to be Concert and light shows. LOL
Somebody will probably come out with a add on stator kit that bolts on in place of that flywheel piece between motor and trans.
