Fortunately. It did not get ugly. I could circumvent the clacking by gently rolling out of first.

But I knew I'd need to figure out what needs repair/replacement.

I purchased the buggy used worry about 50 hours on it.
The guy rode it 100% in the dunes.


I ride 95% fire roads and rock gardens.

It started clacking recently after I got it , to be honest.
Do you (and the previous owner) use the clutch for every gear change?

Hello I viewed an old post of your on your yxz 1000 1rst gear clacking. I am having the exact same issue with mine did you figure out exactly what was causing the sound. I would really appreciate any feed back.

Rear driveshaft coupler splines sound like slipping, happened to a friend while we were on a ride. Then i replaced my coupler with titanium one from Alba with large grease boot packed with grease, also i replaced the rear differential yoke piece where splines ride inside with new shaft seal on diff. Mine were not bad at around 2500 miles but still upgraded. Now at 8730 miles and all good. Just have to pull rear diff and driveshaft out and inspect, only takes less than an hour to disassemble.
