I threw my money down yesterday at NCY- I am first in line to get one at that shop- He had over 30 calls but no one had actually showed up to put down the green backs--
-- At first I wanted the orange or blue, but after being told that they probably wouldn't show up until December, Ill take the yellow one..=)

Congrats to you ! Wish I were in a position to get one right away, but I have too many irons in the fire and will have to wait a bit... and I'd love to see if that mysterious SE silver one comes along, not to mention what other tricks Yamaha may have up their sleeve in the next 6 months or so :)

I was told today I should be able to pick mine up mid to late Sept. I am buying from what I believe to be the second largest Yam dealer in the Midwest so they have dibs on the first shipments. Once I know more I will try to update everyone. I have a trip planned the last weekend of the month so I have my fingers crossed.

that's what I heard too, mid September. Out here in AZ.

this is what my dealer told me:

Just a note to let you know we will have a showing of the new Yamaha YXZ 1000 on Friday September 4th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. This is a traveling unit with our Yamaha District Manager and will only be here for that short period of time. We expect deliver of Special Edition models later this month for sale.

so it looks like dealers will be offering them up in mid to late September which is great

Abernathys sells like 70 units on a Saturday. They are the biggest volume dealer. My neighbor drove 8 hours and scored a XP1000 for $16K. They are 8 hours from most everyone and located dead in the middle of the U.S. so this is why they do so much. Square footage don't mean chit. Hell they sold 16 more on a Monday morning. My local dealer won't do that all year

I asked my salesman about mark up and they said it would be MSRP plus a couple hundred for delivery and set up but he is going to try to keep it right at MSRP if they'll let him. No matter what I'll be out the door under 22k.

Excuse the hell outta me for trying to help somebodey out ... They move a shit ton of bikes every day. Im sure they will get a good size shipment of yxz's . Thought id throw it out there that it might be a good place to try to get one quick. Dont really give a rats ass if ur dealer takes up 15 city blocks.
