After putting on the sand paddles and it sitting in my garage for a day, I loaded up the POPO and YAMMI and went to the dunes Saturday night- I arrived at 11 o'clock and immediately went out for a quick night ride-- After about 15 minutes I came to the conclusion that I won't be duning at night until I can get a light bar and battery-- The stock lights are good, but in those dunes you need to be able to see everything--

This morning I woke up and headed out by 6 am- All I can say is holy shiz!! Third gear in this sucker is fast-- super fast. I used 5th gear only a few times, mostly 4th and 3rd.. Shifting was a blast, even in the middle of a huge climb- I would be flying up in 4th then switch to 3rd and throw a roost at the top of the dune.. So much fun.

I saw one turbo rzr while I was out and that was it- I had my wife driving our long travel turbo'd rzr and we had a blast-- I thought it did well through the whoops, a little bouncy, but I think the whoops were pretty darn big already-

A couple questions people asked me about my sand tires-- They are 30 inches, they didn't hit or touch the body, and I didn't notice any slow down from weight.. As a matter of fact, I pulled a small wheelie coming out of a dune when I switched from 4th to 3rd--

Sorry no pics or video's boys, I hate in cab vids, and my wife was driving the other car so nobody was there to take pics... Headed back to the dunes on the 9th-11th...Cheers

I'm thinking of using the new 30" slingers I have in the garage. Is that what you're using? I was going to put the 30"ers on the wildcat (turbo) and put the 16 paddle 28" #2 STU's on the YXZ but wasn't sure it could pull the full paddle. Anxious to hear what you have to say.

He's running GMZ Sand Strippers 30" on 15" Casino wheels. Very hot set up. Have a set sitting in my garage waiting for the YXZ to show up.

How heavy are your 30'' paddles compared to stock tires?
The sand tires and wheels arent that much heavier than stock-- I wouldve thought that the sand tires and wheels would be really heavy compared to the stock tires and rims, but they arent-- apparently those stock tires are really heavy for their size--

It sounds like it shits and gets, so your happy?
I would never sugar coat anything-- this thing is worth the wait and the loot-- It flies!! I have one negative besides the stupid battery-- if you are going slow and happen to sink in the soft sand, first gear without 4wd you are stuck.. Im not sure if its from my tires or not, but first gear is a bit of a dog until 5000 rpm--

whats the beef with the battery? too small to run a 50" lightbar? an alternator is $100 and the install looks like a piece of cake! think I will make my own kit and pulley when it arrives.

Well-- let me be the first in line to buy yours-- cause theirs is expensive!!! And apparently I cant run my lighted whips and light bar without the alternator or battry kit

I wont do a second battery just because the weight, i ran the mini nippondenso alternator of the kubota tractor on my rhino-took me 5 of the chinese copies to get it right, but they are built good, dont use the china alternator....a driveshaft pulley and a bracket to the frame should be a piece of cake as the driveshaft doesnt move all around like rhino motors do....bet its alot easier then we think...a cable and pulley and belt and some wire....how much is their kit and do we have any pics already of it? i got a cnc lathe at my disposal and a cnc mill so I can have those knocked out in no time, also have a laser and waterjet waiting for a pattern....bet I can do it for $300 a kit...Im also going to be knocking out a rear mount radiator kit, a new low profile but wider radiator with dual fans, mounted behind the seat like a innercooler on a turbo car....dont want the radiator in the stock location....cant waite until it shows up!

The factory Alt kit is something like $800. It also comes with some oil lines since they say the factory hard lines need to be relocated. I was also told a shaft threads into the end of the crank so a pulley can be mounted on it.
