Tensor Regulator, Maxxis Liberty, Kenati Mongrel. Those are tire names I see pop up often when looking around the forums and on google. Not sure which to pick, am I correct in assuming it doesn't really matter? They all are going to be great tires right? I have the options to ride a lot of different terrains being in Arizona (as many of you) from sand, hard pack, fire trails, rocks, jeep trails, some pavement, and everything in between. Lately I've been doing about 10 pavement miles a week on it commuting to work since the weather is perfect right now.

Next question would be about tire size. I see lots of people are running either 28s or 30s. Without engine or gear mods what should I be looking at? I feel like the stock tires look a little small, but this is my first UTV. Will one of the aforementioned tires in stock tire size appear taller than stock tires? I hear a lot of positives about ride performance with bigger tires. I suppose the question is would you find the benefits of a larger tire outweigh the negative effects on felt power and gearing on the stock machine? If so 28s or 30s? As far as gearing is concerned stock gearing has worked out good for me and my riding style so far.

Next, when replacing the stock tires is it best to just get the same size tire in all four corners?
What is wheel offset and what does it mean to my riding experience? I'm looking at ordering this Facotry UTV spare mount ( yxz-dualspare ) and it asks about factory offset or aftermarket offset. Would aftermarket offset allow me to mount aftermarket wheels as well as factory wheels?

I'm sure I left something out or forgot something

Thanks in Advanced

Same size on all four! Tensors are heavier than what they claim and are terrible on sand, other than that I no complaints. I am running 30's but I have the 45/15,cams,pipe,tune. I like to go fast and was happy with the stock car... I had thought about putting these wheels/tires on before doing any mods and I am very glad I decided to do the trans at the same time as my wheels/tires. I think there are a lot of great tires out there and I don't think you would be upset with any of the ones you listed. My advise however is to avoid the 30" temptation unless you plan on doing a trans. Fwiw my 30's on my 4+4 offset wheels rub on my foot wells ever so slightly when fully stuffed. Also something I discovered this weekend when I was at the dunes, the bigger sidewall gives more of a side to side bounce when going through long whoop sections, with my stock big horns I could hammer down and get it to straighten out if I started to walk from side to side in the whoops but with these 30's it would not pull out of it... just my .02

Do you think 28s would be better then? Or getting a tire in 27 (Which I believe is stock size correct?), which I'm sure would still be a little taller than stock Big horns? I don't have enough experience to say I dislike how the stock big horns ride.

Get the 28's, you'll be a lot happier with those in a stock car.

28x10r14 mongrels will be great, you'll read a lot about people losing sidewalks in them but most of that was with the older (and lighter) 8ply tires. The new ones are 10ply. I lost a sidewall on my Tensors with only 100mi... anything can happen. Check with Discount tire direct before you order, they are a site sponsor and they can usually beat any price.

We carry the Tensor Regulator and Kanati Mongrel tires. Both are DOT approved and do a great job on our Arizona trails. I have run the Kanati Mongrel tires for over a year on my side by side on trails around Phoenix and UT. They work great. Many of my friends run Tensor Regulators. They also do a solid job in our tough varied terrain and will list a bit longer than the Kanati's as they are a steel belted radial.

I would recommend staying with a 28/10R-14 size without a gear reduction. You can mount them on your stock wheels but many go with an aftermarket 14x7 wheel on all four corners so they can rotate.

We have some excellent rebates currently with our Memorial Day Sale. The sale ends Monday.

Here is a link to our 28/10R-14 tires and 14x7 wheels:

jw321, thank you for the recommendation. We always guarantee the lowest delivered price on the internet.

When you buy tires and wheels together we mount them Free, shipping is Free as well.

Please let us know if we can help.

Thanks so I've narrowed down the tires. As far as wheels go, getting non beadlock wheels and replacing my stock beadlocks seems like a step backwards. So I was looking around for beadlocks and noticed raceline beadlocks were so cheap compared to almost all other brands of beadlocks? Are they GTG? or stay away? I've saw people running them on their jeeps...

thanks for all the help and thanks discount, I honestly didn't even think to look on your site as I was thinking I had to go into a store to orde

I hope everyone is having a good Memorial weekend.

edit:
please forgive me, but if raceline is gtg on utv wheels is this wheel correct for the yxz. Is it close to stock offset?

do you know if the terrabites are the same width as the kanatis? stock photos make the kanatis look wider than the terras. That terrabite looks sweet though, like it has a little more bite than the kanatis. How does the tire do in higher speeds 60+? do they feel stable or squirly off pavement)

Very quiet and smooth tire, not as much grip around corners under acceleration IMG_2579.JPG IMG_2585.JPG IMG_2598.JPG

Raceline makes a very durable product. They are used by many off-road racers. The 5+2 backspace is close to stock. It will be slightly wider.

mamba makes both 5-2 and 6-1 offset. they both will fit and 6-1 is very close to stock width. be sure to get lug nuts too as stock wont work with them. Can also get ring powder coated to accent your color if want. Dont forget the never seize

I ended up just going with the Mongrels, I felt like it was the safe choice. However, the terrabites and the tensors look better, at least to me. I also ordered the mambas with a 5-2 offset. Still have to order the lug nuts as they seem harder to source (can't find on amazon or rocky mtn) and they wouldn't go into the cart for me on racelines web page.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and input I really appreciate it. I feel like I couldn't have really gone wrong with any of the tires I would have chosen.

if bought set of 4 wheels, a lot of time the lug nuts come with them. if wheels have not come yet, may call to see if included
I probably should have bought the set but I bought 5 individual wheels. Almost ordered lug nuts from raceline, but found some on ebay thankfully. They wanted 65 bucks plus almost 20 shipping for 16 lug nuts through raceline. I thought that was crazy lol. Got 16 on ebay for 28 dollars shipped.

Can you replace 2 tires at a time without harm? If I replace just the backs right now and then the fronts later, is that a problem? Will it screw up the differentials or anything? Or does it just simply impact traction/handling?
