In search of new rear shocks for my ‘16. I have had my shocks revalved and rebuilt twice. One rear shock leaks at resevoir adjuster screw and the other leaks out of the shaft and has been rebuilt for this twice. Tired of messing with these and seeing what others have experience for best replacement. I see rear sets of King shocks for $1445 and also Weller shows set of rear RC2 shocks without springs for $1425. Appreciate any input.

things to consider when looking at kings vs fox would shaft coatings. i believe the fox shafts are actually better so if your going through shaft seals (which is common on all UTVs actually) id look into shock guards. i see this mostly on utvs that trail ride gravel roads or even access roads more so than desert utvs since the small pea gravel etc has a tendancy to kick up and create small knicks in the shaft and then cut the seals

I have weller shocks covers, full rear a-arm skid plates, mud flaps and only one shock has shaft seal that continues to leak. And after more research i am stuck with probably sending them out again for another pocket full of cash to try to fix again. Seems like a yearly costly expense for shocks anymore at over $2200 last year and will be at least another $800 depending on parts this time for just trying to fix rears that are both dripping.

Wow, I wouldn't have thought you would have that much trouble with Weller!

damn thats not good to hear. wonder what is causing that, that is definietly not common from my experience, from weller or from any shock in general.

there is no need to have them sent to weller for a leak, considering shipping costs etc. any powersports shock guy can do them. since your up in the boonies now, maybe look for a sled place? its likely the shafts need to be redone, which is not typical in a shock rebuild, weller is likely redoing all internals.

Definetly need to try to find a place near me but so far no luck in search. I know Weller has parts to replace shafts and my leaking resevoir. Not sure it is worth it to me to drive as far as it might take for rebuild? Might end up shipping back to Weller and have both shock shafts , seals one piggyback resevoir replaced for what will be my cheapest route so far.

Answer to that is found one place possibly about 120 miles one way that could rebuild. That would mean 480 miles for two round trips!!! All dealer and shops i call send out utv and larger sled shocks. Sending back to Weller and have them replace both shafts and one resevoir. Definetly out here is different to get things done makes me think of how much $$$ could be made out here.

Thank you very much for the offer. I think after all research at this point i am going to send them back to Weller and all components in question replaced as they carry parts needed in stock right now and can keep costs down for me.
