John I think the left side steering column has a paddle for reverse once it's in neutral. Pleas correct me if I'm wrong
Nope, I think you have it correct, or we both think alike!John I think the left side steering column has a paddle for reverse once it's in neutral. Pleas correct me if I'm wrong
Actually, it is probably like the ATVs. You shift into first, pull the steering wheel lever, then push the shifter forward again. The lever lockout prevents accidental engagement of reverse. The shift pattern from the tranny video supports this. To exit, you'd just pull the shifter rearward.I was told you put it in neutral, pull the lever on steering wheel, then push the gearshifter foward. Is that what y'all understand? Maybe tennessee will pipe up. He drove it.
Man you know I love my Maverick! It's one of the trickest around but this thing has got me postin every night! Lolthanks for the quick responses friends , I have only seen pictures of the grey reverse paddle on the left side of the steering column but have yet to see any info on it , I too hope that Tennessee can shed some feedback on this , Thanks again everyone oll and Play doh You planning on trading in your maverick on this new toy lol

I hope you get it! This machine has been put through the paces in testing so I think it'll hold up. I'm wondering how fast you can get from reverse to first and back again. A lot of times we have to turn around on a tight trail and there is not a hill to spin around on. I wonder if there is video of the process? A couple more weeks and I'll see for myselfI've seen your list of mods , yes your maverick top notch 2nd to none . I have been reading the maverick forum every day sense they started it but I was never able to afford one , business has been really slow the last 3 years But I want that manual shift !! its what I grew up with and I don't half to buy a front locker , it already has one I guess I'm going to half to find a way to get one of these bad boys next summer after everyone else figures out all its weak spots , so I know what to replace befor it brakes , lets face it nothing is perfect , week parts will brake and be replaced with stronger after market Just how it is lol
I haven't driven one, but I think that's how it will be. Put it in 1st, then pull back a half-click. Just like on any dirt bike or street bike.dumb question...how do you get nuetral? wouldn't imagine its a half-click like a dirtbike or any other dog box?
My 660 Raptor has a similar setup for reverse. When you're in 1st, just turn the reverse knob and shift down. Then to get out of reverse, simply shift up once. You can go from reverse to 1st very quicklyI'm wondering how fast you can get from reverse to first and back again. A lot of times we have to turn around on a tight trail and there is not a hill to spin around on.
Thanks for the feedbackThe YXZ gear shifter will not go forward into rev. until you pull up on the grey lever, just played with it today. You are going to love the steering wheel feel and I can't say enough about the cockpit.
The demo is in RideNow Goodyear today and Peoria store Sat/Sun.
I think I will get one by mid summer even if I half to make a few payments By then there should be a lot of after market accessory's out and some feed back on how it preforms in my riding conditions which is tight ruff trails , steep ruff hills , water crossings , muddy and rutted trails , rocks , as you can see I am not a dune rider at all , I think the dunes are awesome just not for me , the only sxs I ever drove was a 660 rhino , only road it 1/2 hour and couldn't stand having to push the peddle all the way to the floor to get it to move , so I kept my 660 grizzly , at least when I gave it the gas it took off without having to be at 5000 rpms , I know you have a lot of places like I ride where you live , I raced GNCC there in 1996 lol yea I am old now , but still like to go like hell trough the woodsI hope you get it!
