Running fan in reverse?

Has anyone tried running the fan in reverse to push the hot air out the front of the machine instead of back into the tunnel? I hooked up jumper wires to the fan plug & reversed them. It does move about the same amount of air each way. Thinking I would wire in a second plug wired in reverse & switch them around for summer & winter. I don't run do much high speed driving & the radiator doesn't get much direct air into it anyway. I have done this on a custom built buggy & it works great.

You beat me to this post. I was thinking the same thing today and was going to post it. I have a 19 and the intake is right between the seats at shoulder height. If I reverse the fans in winter I will have a nice cab heater. I looked at the fans today, they just look like standard automotive fans. As far as I know those can be used in push or pull condition although fan blades are often cupped to be more efficient one way. I thought I would spark mine up in reverse and see how it blew. If it worked I was going to set up a set of relays for automatic or reverse running. Maybe someone else has done this?

I have the Hess radio setup and actually have a couple of jumper pigtails I made to reverse the fans. It does work to help heat the inside of the car, but if you are driving fast and have a windshield the car will run hot.
