Interested in a set of skids for my '19 YXZ SS. I've seen a bunch of stuff on here about the different skids, but in particular...

Has anyone had any success with a front Super ATV bumper/winch and either the Trail Armor 1/2" or 3/8" Factory UTV set?
It seems like there's hardly any space in between the back of this bumper setup to fit a skid behind there.

Also, self tappers.... I don't have a welder so weld nuts are out of the question for me. Any luck with the self tappers holding or using some other sort of method?

Cheers all!

Been thinking along the same line but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Who did you go thru for the HDPE? Local or online?
Thanks

A lot of measuring and did a lot of pilot holes in place then would take it off drill and recess all my holes for the recessed washers. 300$ in the whole project one full day of labor. I used Grainger. ordered it thru them and picked it up at there store so
I could get out of the high shipping costs.

I run the Trail Armor 1/2" skids with the yamaha winch bumber which is similar to the superatv one and i had to shave about 3/8" of the front skid plate thickness where it overlapped. I havent had an issue with the self tapping screws and ive bashed the skids pretty hard, even had them off twice and no issue with reinstall.

I will say i am not impressed with the fit of the Trail Armor skids, lots of overlap on the edges especially behind the front wheels, next time all the skids come off theyre getting trimmed down.

So I have the trail Armor skid plates on & I didn't use the self tapping screws.
I used pipe hangers brackets.
It was super easy and strong too.
Simply buy the brackets and over the frame.
Mark the hole's.
Drill them & then counter sink on the bottom side.
And bolt them on.
I did put tape on the inside of the brackets to hopefully keep it wearing the paint off.

I am really digging the hanger idea as well. Looks pretty solid and can be removed without much hassle. Thanks for all the input so far guys, I really appreciate that. Its giving me some better ideas that I wouldnt have though of myself. Keep the posts coming! I know I'm itching to try and get out somewhere this weekend...

I have the 3/8" Factory UTV skid plates and they are practically bullet proof. I have crashed over logs, stumps, dirt and rocks and they look like new still, barely even scratches. Little pricey, but would HIGHLY recommend. They don't just protect the bottom, they go up the sides, so kinda like having rock sliders and they go up the front and back so when you crash over stuff it protects the frame too.
