Thoughts on 2nd smaller machine.

I've seen posts here and there about Yamaha possibly releasing a second SxS maybe a woods type machine, 60 or so inches wide. I plan to keep my 4-seat Mav but would be interested in a trail version sport SxS for the wife and I to play with. Both my boys have there own 4-wheelers, so really the only time we need the Mav is when we have friends along. Any thoughts?

I'm hoping for a 50" trail model, for a few of the gated trails we have here. I have a Wildcat Trail now, so will be curious what Yamahas trail model will be like, if they bring one out in the near future.
I think there is a definite possibility that they will make a trail sport machine, very large market there.

Based of all the advertising i have seen thus far i think this release will be tailored for the open desert/dunes.
I agree that this release will be the big dog. Hopefully over the next couple of years they will make everyone happy. I waited as long as I could stand it before buying the Maverick, so now at least I have a fun machine to play with while waiting again.
I figure it'll be at least 2 years before they release a trail version and have it out for a year to get any bugs worked out, then I'll be ready to buy.

Why do they need a trail version when they already have the wolverine?
^^^my thoughts exactly..

I'm not thinkin that's what's happening.
Trail guys like power too. Suspension on the Wolverine might be ok but power is not. I want to keep the feel of my sport machine just in a slightly smaller package.

I was referring to a 50" wide model and the Wolverine is 60+ in. wide.

Gotcha. I am in tune with the 50" market. I wouldn't fit in one nor would I want one because I am not limited by trail width where I ride.
If I was, I would just ride a quad.
I am hoping that one of the models will be a 60'' n with the 112hp 3 cyl engine it would be a lot of fun to drive. I have been waiting along time for Yamaha to come out with a power house sxs n in 12 days we will all know.
