Hey everyone,

I created this post to provide customers and would be customers with general information about the Tribal X whips.

We'd also like to invite you to share your pics, videos, install tips, experience, advice, comments, ideas and anything else you can think of that relates to Tribal X.

Tribal X Specs:

Lengths: 3 ft., 4 ft., 5 ft.
Pole dia: 1.0"
Animator options: RF (remote control), and Mystique (bluetooth)
Mount type: Quick Connect / Disconnect (Pin release and hold method)
Power draw, Max.: 34 watts/ea. @ 12vdc
Flag optoins: Tribal X (standard), Orange Pennant, Rectangular Orange Mesh

1. Tribal X whips are compatible with older versions of the Aurora series whips and animators, ie. backwards compatible.
2. Bluetooth apps: Mystique 1.0 = MagicLED, Mystique 2.0 = LED Hue
3. Addon's: Brake light module, Turn Signals, etc. Call us for assistance.

Installation tips:

1. Make sure that your connections are good and strong.
2. The on/off selector in the app, or the on/off button on the remote control DOES NOT completely power the whips off. It's recommended that you use a switch to power the whips on/off to prevent unwanted battery drain.
3. We recommend that you use 16 awg wire to provide power to the whip and accessories.
4. If you're controlling your whips via app, and your whips do not light completely to the top, go to the settings and increase the number of pixels to 150.

Basic Troubleshooting:

If whips don't light up?...

As a general note, make sure that you're using the correct app, and that you're able to connect your device to the animator. If you have a remote controlled animator, make sure that the battery is installed in the remote, that the plastic tab has been removed from the battery box and that when you push the remote buttons, the small led light at the end of the remote, lights up.

1. Inspect ALL connections for good continuity.
2. Check the fuse on the 12v - 5v power supply and / or animator.
3. Measure voltage going in to the 12v - 5v convertor and / or animator, it should be no less than 12vdc.
4. Measure voltage on the output of the 12v - 5v converter and/or animator, it should be no less than 4.7vdc.
5. Measure the power at the whips, it should be at least 4.6 vdc.
6. If the problem persists, try plugging the whip(s) directly to the animator output, bypassing all wiring and connections. If the whips operate normally, you'll know that you have a connection problem that needs to be resolved.

Note: The voltage on the data line (green wire) will be sporadic, and not helpful for troubleshooting problems.

If you need further assistance, contact Tribal Whips customer service dept. directly and have the whips present so they can further assist you and help locate the problem.

Please consider these "PLUG AND PLAY" 3 prong extensions instead of the raw wire extensions offered on your website.

To extend one of the whips the the Y splitter. Even if I needed to use two of these 3 prong wire extensions it would be better than a clamping wire splice
