What Engine Will The New Yamaha Sport SXS Get?

Well we know it's a three cylinder, but is it going to be the Nytro motor (1049cc) out of one of their sleds or are they going to drop the smaller displacement FZ-09 engine (847cc) into the Banshee?

My inside info is that it is a 900cc triple cylinder....
I thought the nytro was a four cylinder . Maybe mistaken. They could easily develop a new motor from scratch. If they do the sky is the limit!!!!
My bet is on the 847cc engine. I only say that based on Yamaha's reputation for playing it safe. Not to say that the triple 847cc won't be a lot of fun. I just don't see them jumping to a 1000+cc...yet.
The 847cc engine is no joke! It makes 115 horsepower and 65 foot-pounds of torque in the FZ-09. I think that's a great start for a new sport SXS. Just think about hearing this while you're blasting down the trail or up a dune

I agree. I think the 847cc would be sweet. I wouldn't want a stereo with that exhaust note!
Yepsad, any info on suspension? Or turbo for the Cali boyz

No other info for sure... He did say positively the triple and 900cc but anything else was speculation... He said he had a feeling for 50in but just a feeling... and that's about all we talked about....
The 2015 Viper motor is a Genesis 3 cylinder. I could see a small CC reduction to get it in under 1k cc. My hope is 130hp, DCT with paddle shift, 18inch of travel, 30inch stock tires. That'll let it put a hurting on the competitions turbo's.

I heard a rumor that there will be 2 different models of it.
The Nytro would be good, prefer the bigger displacement plus there is off the shelf turbos already to go as well
I think they would be smart if they use the nytro motor and change the stroke just a tad to bring it in under 1000 cc. Then they will have a winner.
I also think its possible they release 2 models. One with the smaller cc motor so they can have something in the lower racing class.
