Yamaha spare tire carrier

I wrote Ive been looking for one for about a month, but no luck.. but i did find one for $100 cheaper than anyone else has been selling them for.. bought it for $399 plus $32 shipping and waiting for 5/19 backorder to come in..... maybe because i posted a link and they arent a supported vendor.. it got deleted. google yocracing... you'll find it... if not and interested.. pm me..

I got mine from my dealer. I would not buy one from a second party dealer at this point, the backlog on dealer orders is pretty huge from what I was told and the the dealers get the first ones out of the plant until their back orders are filled. I ordered mine in Oct, and got it last month. The dealers can see how many are coming out by logging into Yamaha.

As a side note, these things are really nice.

Geezsus.. 5 months.... crazy.... my card is not being charged till it is shipped. so not worried about it... but would not be happy if it got to me in Oct 2016..lol.. that would be nuts......

what makes you think the Cucamonga dealer I'm buying it from would get any less priority than your local dealer.. im not saying you are wrong, but I doubt it.....

High volume dealers, like Cucamonga who put in orders for 200 of these units vs a local dealer putting in 20 orders (not saying your dealer is not a high volume dealer), IMO would get the priority, but I may be wrong... im banking that I wont be waiting 5 months.. guess.. I'll update this in June.. and we'll see..

Ordered mine from them in December and 5/19 is estimated

My dealer is giving me a decent discount and I do like to support them when I can, I guess a guy just gets tired of waiting. I want one because I seen it on display at the sand show last September. It's is a nice setup and works with the factory storage box.. Thanks for the link though.

Those are good guys, I almost jumped on their list a few months back but my dealer gave me a sweet deal and convinced me to wait. Cucamunga is a large dealer, you should be good.

Yeah 5 months wait seems rediculous

pics of the setup? does it add a ton of weight with the tire to see a significant slow down?

In Canada Yamaha want $1200.00 for the tire rack. I will build it when I do my cage.

Finally got mine today. Will install tonight .

Ok it's on . Takes about an hr. Have to cut the rear deck in four spots.straight forward and is very nicely built. With the spare tire mounted on , it doesn't budge a bit. The only thing is it is heavy. Probably added 60 lbs to the rear of the car and that's not including the spare. Makes since why the stock springs were so heavy! Did you get a chance to set the sag and take her out with the carrier? Looks sweet man. It's amazing (to me anyway) it's stout enough to hold a wheel and tire while going all out on trails or whatever.

I went to try it out last weekend . Only got a very short ride because of to much snow still. Did not set the preload up yet , but it did lower the back 3 to 4 " so yes got to reset it. Also running the Weller springs so they are softer then OEM .

4"... much more than expected... hmmm.... wonder what the weight it gonna to to the feel of the ride.. thats an extra 100lbs it sounds like. (tire and mount)..

Yes I would say real close to that much added to the back. When I order my Weller springs I went with short course springs because they said they were stiffer than the dunes and desert springs. After the quick ride I took the cars rear control arms were sitting flat, no angle to them. Definitely have give more preload.

did you go with KOH or standard vavling? Honestly not sure what spring set up put on mine. when talking to him, he said he was going to set me up with his same KOH setup, which I think is the desert setup springs.. with KOH Valving. when I asked him, he said he didnt know the rates..."only PAC knows"..lol.. (keeping his recipe secret)..
