Welcome, yeah we know about the turbo. One of the first things that came out.
The 155 kit will be a dealer installed option and covered under warranty. Prices are not out yet but comming soon.

Where did you get that info from? I'm related to a certified Yamaha tech and he knows nothing about this machine yet. No training on how to service it, let alone how to install a turbo! I would imagine if Yamaha were to warranty a dealer installed turbo they would want there techs trained to do the install.

1/2 day seminar class and then it will be OTJ training
I hope Yamaha does the training and installs. To the best of my knowlege the dealers haven't been told anything about it. Just curious where he got the info from is all:)
So the only air passing through the intercooler is from the fan?

Our dealer insists their will be a dealer installed turbo option.
But being the eternal skeptic,, I'll believe it when I see it.
Mountain Performance says $3,999 for the turbo.
Dealer I'm close to have done several turbo nyrto builds with them and he filled me in. Same as the mpi kits for the viper sleds dealer installed factory warranty

Kind of what I was wondering. I love stealth, but not at the cost of reliability. Gotta think they know what they're doing but I always wondered about sled people making kits for machines that are being used in 100 degree temps vs 20 degree. Yamaha seems to have confidence in them. Might be one of those wait & see's for me.

i know it says proto type muffler but that thing is super ugly , besides that turbos useualy quiet things down alot so why does it need a muffler at all why not just a 45 degree bend off turbo straight out the back like the stock muffler but a straight pipe off turbo

The R&D involved as well as the rigorous testing Yamaha requires from its suppliers/vendors is very demanding. The testing Yamaha required MPI do for the turbo and their super charger kits on the sleds was brutal. One of the tests was to run a sled wide open for most of a day on a several mile long oval test track. They only let off the throttle enough to complete the turn through the banked corners and then again to refuel the sled. As I was told they preformed this test for several thousand miles. MPI didn't have a single failure on any of the test sleds. The only issue I know that MPI had was early in their birth as a company and that was with the Doebeck controllers. They had issues with some of them being subjected to water.
Personally I would like to see a dual fan unit pushing air across the intercooler. Just my 2 cents...

Turbo's are not quiet by any means. You can listen to some sleds with the same motor, look up impulse turbo nytro on youtube and you will hear the tone. But they muffle down a little with the snow and pointing down.

Turbos are quieter than a straight pipe but louder than a muffled exhaust.
Vrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaappppppppppppppp
